She then suggested 6 more wines which we took with us to the Sri Lankan restaurant next door called Sigiri. We were warned that Sri Lankan food is quite spicy and tried to pair accordingly.
Peitan $14.00 2008 AlbariƱo sour apple, bright grassy, no nose. DRY mouth, fresh tasting, big in the mouth. We had this wine with the Gothamba Roll (a doughy pancake filled w/ beef) and Dhal Vada (lentil patties --pictured).

2008 Tempranillo
strawberry, dry, smells like buttery, syrupy, heavy. The best pairing with the food.
Banaza $14.00

We LOVED this wine. Tastes like a Pinot but with more structure. Sweet cherry, tobacco
For Dessert we had Watalappan which is a pudding of coconut milk, palm sugar, cashew nuts & spices (pictured) and Banana Fritters.

Arbanta $13.00

the only thing my notes said was "confused!!" but that had nothing to do with the wine!
We liked this one but were too far into the stories of our lives to to comment!!
